About Christopher L. Blakesley, Esq.

ATTORNEY & CO-FOUNDER

Christopher L. “CB” Blakesley was raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the son of one of the nation’s pre-eminent scholars in criminal and international criminal law.

His father taught at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, Louisiana State University, Paul Hebert School of Law, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Boyd School of Law. CB’s mother was a longtime educator who balanced her career while raising CB and his two older sisters. He credits his family’s example with their constant, positive influence on his life and career.

Beyond his practice, CB is actively involved with My Scars Are Beautiful, a Nevada 501(c)(3) that supports women, men, and children recovering from traumatic physical and emotional injuries through counseling, peer support groups, trauma and art therapy workshops, social outings, and financial assistance for treatment and insurance co-pays.

Practice Areas

Education

After high school, CB served a two-year volunteer mission for his church in Hungary, where he learned fluent Hungarian and developed a strong commitment to community service. Upon returning, he taught Hungarian at a prestigious language training academy and completed his studies at Brigham Young University, graduating with honors with a B.S. in Psychology. He then moved to Las Vegas and earned his Juris Doctor from UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law.

During law school, CB was active in Phi Alpha Delta and the Saltman Center for Dispute Resolution. He externed in the office of then–Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and was later hired to work on key Nevada issues, including immigration and veterans’ affairs. He also worked with a prominent Las Vegas personal injury attorney.

Admissions & Practice

CB passed the Nevada Bar and is a member in good standing with the State Bar of Nevada. He is admitted before all Nevada District Courts and the U.S. District Court (District of Nevada). His practice has focused extensively on personal injury and criminal defense. He has successfully tried misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor, felony, family law, and civil matters, and he serves as the managing personal injury attorney for LBC Law Group’s pre-litigation team.

Additional Background

CB has been recognized by Nevada Business Magazine® (Legal Elite) as one of Nevada’s top personal injury lawyers. In 2012, he founded a successful boutique firm specializing in criminal defense and personal injury in the historic Huntridge area of downtown Las Vegas, serving thousands of clients for nearly four years. He later purchased the building where he began his career and continues to run his criminal defense practice there.

In late 2015, CB and his partners merged their firms to form LBC Law Group, with a goal of providing experienced, fairly priced legal services to clients seeking a more personal alternative to “big-firm” representation.

CB credits his father, the criminal law professor who sparked his passion for continuing guidance on the law, family, and life.

Community & Personal

CB is an avid soccer player and LSU football fan. He and his wife support the downtown Las Vegas arts and music community, including volunteer work with the Liberace Foundation for the Performing and Creative Arts. CB and his wife Leah (also an attorney) are proud to call Las Vegas home.
